Get Ready for some Murderous Blonde Brownies

I know its about time for the return of  Murder Mystery Cooking.  So here you go, we are going  back to the Cackle Berry Club via Laura Child's "Eggs in Purgatory".  That book as so many recipes I could cook for a week using them.  But I will refresh your memory about the story line 3 women who are in midlife reinvent themselves by opening the cackle berry club part diner part social club for a small town. Unfortunately the women get involved in solving murders.  So sit back relax and enjoy a good read and cook up some murderous blond brownies to boot. Here's the ingredients you will need.

1 stick butter softened (I melted mine in a pot)
1 cup brown sugar packed
1 egg
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
pinch salt
3/4 cup chopped walnuts (I omitted them in mine boys don't like walnuts)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix together melted butter and brown sugar then beat egg into mix. Add the other dry ingredients i.e. flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.  Mix together well.  Fold in walnuts and chocolate chips. Oil and flour the metal pan. Spread batter in medium sized metal baking pan.  Cook at 350 degrees for 20 to 22 minutes.
Let cool before flipping pan over onto a plate.  Voila they're done eat up.
