Women's Empowerment Thrifting Haul

(contains amazon affiliated links see disclosure in footer)
Good Morning dear readers,  I love thrifting and there is another store nearby my house.  It's another nonprofit store. They get their items from estate sale donations and have some really cool stuff.  I went back to get this candle stick, tea cup and anything that stuck my fancy.

I love the tea cups and getting a bunch to do that teacup candle craft.  This one had a chip on the top which can be covered by the bling. So sometime soon will have the teacup candles to show you.

This was so cute its a tin bank by hallmark. Not sure how old it is will have to look it up. Love all the woodland animal scenes they really stand out and make it look cute.

This was so nice and will make a great project. Sorry the pic is blurry. Conor has started sanding it down.  It will get a nice coat of paint and some bling has well love all the crafting.

What have you found in your hauls and are you giving them an upcycle would love to know.

Crafter's Beware

Good Afternoon my fellow crafters, I'm here to warn you of a crafting thief.  We careful what you leave out.  Someone might decide it belongs to him.  You might find yourself in a battle of  wills. The battle of wills between human and feline.  A certain teenager borrowed my galvanized tub and instead of using it for what he said he was he put things in it.  He put Frankie's blanket inside it.  The next thing we know he's claimed it and wont get out of it.  I actually get to sleep at night with no cat-he's in the tub.  Here's the evidence.

You think I'm giving this up think again

                                                             Mine, Mine all mine

Don't try anything funny I know where you sleep.

Lock up all your crafts you never know who will claim them.

Upcycling Vase-Giving It Some Bling

(contains affiliated amazon links see disclosure in footer)
Good Morning dear readers,  I finished a new project that's really easy to do.  Everybody has some simple plain vases in their kitchen cabinets.  Some of them are just so plain there VERY BORING. I saw this idea in one of my craft feeds about gluing stones to a vase and I thought I would give it a try.  Always love adding bling to items and making stand out.  Here's what it looked like after I finished.

What you'll need to make a vase look this one:

Vase from stash
2-3 bags of stones from floral dept
embellishments
glue gun
glue sticks

First off I wash the vase this is what it looked like before I blinged it.

Start layering stone around the vase all the way to the top.  You will have some gaps depending on the vase.  Fill in little gaps with pearl beads and flower embellishments with rhinestones.  Let sit until completely dry.  Note be careful burned my fingers fixing spots.  You can put LED lights inside to give it more bling.  I might buy some later and update post.  Keep crafting zen hugs and purrs from Frankie.

Summer Time Candy Bark

(contains affilitated amazon links see disclosure in footer)
Good Evening dear readers, Conor's been asking for me to make bark again.  I told him I wanted something a little different.  We compromised I made his favourite and then I played with this recipe. I saw the vanilla chips in the store and it reminded me of ice cream. You know the type I'm talking about the ice cream sandwiches with the chocolate on the outside and the vanilla on the inside.  I grabbed a bag and then proceeded to make this recipe.  I love this recipe its so easy it only takes 10 minutes in the oven.  So here's how I made this recipe.

1 bag chocolate chips 11 oz bag
1 bag vanilla chips 11 oz bag
1/4 cup chopped almonds
1/4 cup baking coconut

Spread the chips on a baking sheet.  Then sprinkle the other ingredients over the chips.  Place in a 200 degree oven no higher or the chocolate will burn.  When melted remove from oven and spread around with spatula.  Place in freezer for 20 minutes.  Pull out when frozen and break into little pieces.

Good Morning fur buddies,  I was getting my tummy rubbed by boy.  So I was in a very relaxed mode and then he took these pictures.  No faire I was all exposed for the world to see.  It's like someone having their picture taken while taking a shower--to exposed.  So mom played with them and created these art works.  We are participating in Athena Cat Goddess Art Hop.  If you want to see all kinds of anipals in art check it out.  Mom loves this form of art so fuss no mess.  That's what she thinks theirs a lot of fuss when I don't want to the flashy box in my face.  I tell you do humans like having their photos taken.  No my human doesn't does yours?  Mom played in picmonkey and dreamscope.  Enjoy your weekend zen hugs and purrs to all.

So here's a detailed list of what you'll need: Take your time and enjoy creating.

Here's what it looked like when I bought it.

I proceeded to sand the birdhouse down and started painting the walls with Bright Magenta.

I then painted the roof with Purple Iris need to apply two coats of paint.

I sprayed ink on the back for an over all drippy effect.

I touched up the metal flowers with similar colors to the original ones used.

Then I hot glued the pebbles to the base as well as the daisy beads to the birdhouse.

I placed the sticky studs, glued the key to the corner of the house and placed a crystal bead in the center of the main flower.  Voila your done.

June Thrift Store 1/2 off sale

(contains affilated amazon links see disclosure in footer)
Good Morning dear readers,  I had a lovely time at the 1/2 off sale.  I found a lot of fun items.  Some items I'm going to need your help to figure out what they are all about.  I went in search of craft items, books and nick nacks.  I think I did pretty good only spent $10.  The first item I found is this cup with a side pocket on it.  Theirs a little knob on the handle.  Not sure what it is can you help. I need to get more books.

I think I scored really well with this next item.  I found these two little dolls.  They look like some I found on etsy called singing waif dolls.  They have some damage on their hands.  I will have to see if they can be repaired.

This is part of a pair other photos didn't turn out

This is a really pretty bottle I found.  This one might be upcycled and decorated.

These two cuties are going into the cat collection.  I have to put these away pretty fast frankie hates anything that looks like another cat.  He's so jealous he's broken a few of my other pieces.

Here's some more books I found love the craft ones.  I also found one about painting on glass and ceramic bottles.  This is really good to read about some new crafts.  I also found some more murder mystery books.

Happy thrifting enjoy your days.

June Yard Sale Finds

(post contains affiliated links see disclosure in footer)
Good morning dear readers, sorry been M.I.A. had some more health issues come up.  Hopefully next weeks neuro appointment will take care of everything. The ER doc did increase my aspirin blood thinner dose and that seems to be helping until the appointment.  Okay back to thrifting had a lot of fun.  Found some neat stuff great for  reselling and upcycling.  I went to a yard sale last week and found a lovely brooch.  It is missing a little pearl that's okay it can be fixed.  I know a lady who fixes jewelry and I learn a lot from her booth.

I was able to hit another yard sale this weekend and it had some cool stuff.  I've been wanting to play with a birdhouse again and I found one yesterday just perfect for upcycling.  I loved my steampunk birdhouse maybe I can add a little bling to this one.  Here's my other birdhouses

I was looking around on etsy and saw these lovely vases that were modpodge. They looked really cool so I found this bottle and will upcycle to a form of modpodge.  You know those bottles you find at Halloween that say poison that comes to mind for this project.

I also found some lovely Christmas ornaments and great book cooks to try some new recipes.

Keep checking those yard sales you never know what you'll find.
