Who doesn't love Bing Crosby's White Christmas makes everyone wish for snow on Christmas day. I can remember when I lived in Kentucky and it snowed on Christmas Day. It just made the day more special and the boys made a Snowman outside. I feel we have more memorable moments because of snow. Another song I love is "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer". This is funny and cute and if your feeling a little blue this at least gets you to laugh. "Love Actually" has a another popular song "All I want for Christmas is you" gets you thinking about the ones you love in your life and spending time with them. This makes me want to party and spend time with family. Last but certainly not least is "The Christmas Shoes" a very sad and poignant song about a boy and his mother dying at Christmas. I always cry when I hear this song makes you think about the people you lost at holiday time. What are some of the songs you listen too at Christmas? Do you take your kids out caroling? So this year, I want you to get the music out and share some of your favourite songs with your family and friends. Enjoy the holidays everyone.

Kyles Cookies-Chocolicious
Good Morning all, We have a winner in Kyle's cookie recipe. They are chocolicous good. They are also very easy since I talked him into using a German chocolate cake mix after reviewing several recipes that use cake mixes. Using a mix makes it so much easier. So here's what we did so you can enjoy these wonderful cookies. Trust me their good Conor ran off with 1/2 dozen.
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
2 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon almond extract
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Mix above ingredients together when well blended fold in one bag (6 oz.) chocolate chips.
Place tablespoon of dough 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Cook for 12-14 minutes at until brown around edges 350 degrees makes about 3 dozen cookies.
Chocoholics you are going to love this its very addicting.

Fun Thrifty Ornaments
Good Morning all, The inspection is finally over and we passed. I'm loving every one's post of Christmas Decorations. So I decide I would post some of the ornaments I've gotten over the years. You don't have to spend a lot of money on ornaments. Finding ones that are unique and different are really easy. I find most of my ornaments at the vintage and thrift shops. We have a tradition where everyone picks an ornament that's theirs every year and here are some of them.

Frankies Corner-Christmas Tree Intervention
Good Morning all, Frankie's post is early this week because of the inspection. I noticed everyone is showing all their lovely trees for Christmas on their blogs. We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving and that's when the trouble begins. Frankie loves pretty, pretty, shiny, shiny (yes its from that movie). First off when you have cats do not put the breakable ornaments toward the bottom of the tree. Also don't put anything dangling from the bottom row of the tree that's just too tempting. The best tool to keep your cats from damaging your tree is a spray bottle. It must have a long range nozzle. Last year I had a mister sprayer and Frankie just sat there laughing at me because I had to get up close and get him with it.This year I found the proper sprayer and its working. I have used this method on all my cats and its pretty effective. You can find one at the Dollar stores for a $1. This little amount of money saves you a lot in ornament replacement. Also reward the little guy when they leave the tree alone. This is very effective unless you have a genius cat. One of Frankie's predecessors a lovely Russian Blue named Tasha decided she would show me. I woke to find the nozzle of the bottle chewed just the nozzle. So don't tell Frankie.

"All I Want For Christmas" movie and Activity
Good Morning all, Here's another lovely Christmas movie to share with your family. It's the story of a single parent raising her son. A local toy company sponsors a Christmas contest. Her son enters the contest because all he wants for Christmas is a new Dad. He wants his mom to find someone special. The story continues with her being presented with various prospects. A very funny and heart warming story. The punchline what you want is right in front of you. Here's the activity for the family. In the story the woman buys 20 Christmas trees and donates them to needy families. I'm not saying go out and buy a bunch of trees but why not help a family get a tree for Christmas. Check with your local church and donate a tree to a family in need. Lets not forget the elderly this season. Some don't have family around or are unable to get out. Go and visit them, be it a neighbor or a nursing home bring some home made goodies and Christmas cards. Spread some of the joy around and take some of the commercialism out of the holiday. Well I hope very one has a joyous time until our next post enjoy.
