Good Morning dear readers, here's that second shopping trip we went on this weekend. Sorry didn't post it earlier camera died. I had to get new batteries. Over all it was a very good sale. It was 50% off in the entire store which I love. This is the thrift store that has craft supplies. When I heard it was 1/2 day coming up I knew I was going to get a lot of supplies for my art journaling and other crafts. So here's what I got with pictures.

Much to Frankies horror I found another cat for my collection.

7 rubber stamps and a stamp pad not bad.

Next craft project 2-3 tier holder with candle sticks and pans

Not shown Conor got two dvd's not bad for around $10.

So hope this inspires you to look in unusual places for things we need happy thrifting and zen hugs all around.

Art Journal Pages

Good Morning dear readers, I'm going to start sharing my art journal pages with you on a weekly basis. I love being creative and I feel it gives an outlet when your having health issues. I have been watching and following alot of other art journalist and I just love their pages. You don't have to be skilled at drawing to do this art, because I am definitely not able to draw a decent picture. This is not an expensive hobby. You can find supplies anywhere, which you'll see in my next post. Their are also coupons out there for michaels and joanne stores. First off, I got a comp book to work in and make my pages. I had to prep the book to hold all the mediums I used in it. So the book doesn't get to bulky tear out everyother page. You will glue two pages together and to give it strength glue papers to it-I used tore up phone book pages. Once this is dry(place wax paper between pages while drying) paint with gesso. Once this is dry your ready to play. I used all kinds of mediums on this page. Here's some of what I used.

water colors

Small Thrifting Haul Spring Sale

Good Morning dear readers, It's that time of year where the thrift stores are doing their spring cleaning and having sales. My favourite little shop is having their sale this week. I was able to get over there and get a couple of items that I just had to have in my collection. Also my other favourite store is having their half off sale tomorrow can you say crafting haul from the thrift store. This is the one where I get inexpensive craft supplies will be hitting them early. So here's what I got.

This was made out of an egg shell so cool

Can you say clear glass project love the texture can't wait to play with it.

I will also be going to a yard sale at a senior center they are selling all their craft supplies my neighbor told me about it supposed to happen soon can't wait more art journal supplies-Oh got the gesso and working on the comp book will show you later after I'm finished.

Frugal Easy Kid Craft for Easter or Spring

Good Morning dear readers, I've been wanting to ditch the winter scene picture in the dining room and put up some easy crafts on my wall. This is what I came up with very quick and easy to do. Here's a list of what you'll need. You c

rafters probably already have everything in your supplies.

Toilet Paper Rolls

Paint

Tacky Glue

Pipe Cleaner

Paint Brushes

Scissors

Newspapers for easy clean ups

First off, you will have to cut strips from the toilet rolls. I cut enough to make a 3 petal flower you can make it bigger. Then you will paint the strips any color you like-went pink. Let dry for awhile maybe 1/2 hour. I put the tacky glue on and pinched it together and held it for a minute to get it to hold. Take your pipe cleaner and make loops in it and twist to make the leaves. Take one end and loop through flower and twist to secure it. Put on your wall and your done. You can make these compliment a wreath or spruce up a mantel.

What is a Zen Hug?

God Morning dear readers, It's another nice overcast day in California, which means I can go outside with out getting a headache. Any ways I digress here, several people have asked me What is a Zen Hug? I put this in my signature line when responding to people and people have been curious. I am a big fan of Anne McCaffrey and in her brain ship novels one of the characters came up with zen hugs-a hug you would give in person if you were able to give it. I think everyone needs a hug because they are such a release of emotion. Did you know their was an article a long time ago of a club in Seattle that meets just to give its members hugs. Recently in the news there's a company that will come to your house and hug you for half an hour. I thought this was very interesting. People realize the power of hugs. If you had enough people give you a hug you wouldn't need therapy. You would feel loved. So give your family members hugs today and if you have people in your life who live faraway send a ZEN HUG.
