Easy Recipe For Teens To Make-Shrimp Newburg

Good Morning Dear Readers,  this recipe was an add on to an earlier post with no pictures.  I decided to redo it because its really good and easy to teach teens how to do it. It makes a complete meal when you add salad and bread to it.  So here's what you'll need. Originally found this recipe in taste of home magazine and adapted to fit my family.

1 lb bag of precooked frozen shrimp--defrosted
1 can cream of mushroom or shrimp soup-I've used both and they are good.
1/4 cup water
seafood seasoning originally called for teaspoon I just put enough to taste
hot cooked rice

Mix soup and water and seasoning together in sauce pan.  Heat until boiling then add shrimp until heated through.

Note: this can be heated in the microwave just add all ingredients together and cook for 5 minutes in microwave.

Serve over hot cooked rice-can use brown rice for a healthier version.  Enjoy your meal.

Frankies Corner-hide and go seek

Good Morning dear readers,  It's Friday and time for Frankie's corner. I know a lot of the U.S is still experiencing extremely cold weather and the pets can't go outside.  Much like a child a pet needs activity for a certain amount of time each day.  So get those toys out and play with your pets.  Did you know some cats play fetch.  Frankie on an occasion will bring a toy back to me for me to throw it.  Frankie will play chase with conor around the house.  They have a lot of fun.  I was reading some of the pet sites and they say an average of 20-30 minutes a day is good for their health.  It also helps the owners get some exercise.  Have fun with your pet.  Here's the little nuts photos for this week enjoy.

Easy Shoe Box Jewelry Display Case

Good Morning dear readers,  I'm posting today because I will be out tomorrow.  I found this lovely craft in one of my craft email newsletters that I fell in love with it.  It was an easy craft using shoe boxes and it fit into my budget.  You turn the box into  a jewelry display case showing you what you have available to wear.  If your like me you have a jumble of things in jewelry boxes and sometimes you forget what you have in them.  I love jewelry especially vintage pieces.  You'll see some of them in pics at the end of the post. So here's what you'll need to make this easy craft.

1 shoe box preferably only 2 inches deep the long narrow ones work best
multiple toilet rolls without the paper of course
your favorite color of paint (purple) plus brush
a roll of decorated duck tape (found lovely french theme tape at Wal-mart)
fabric remnant (can be found in the bins at Wal-mart)
Glue (started out with tacky glue which seeped through so switched to Elmer's glue all)
scissors
your lovely pieces of jewelry

First off your going to paint your box the outside only.  I ended up putting two coats of paint on it and I let it dry between coats about an hour. Once that's done you can decorate the inside with your duck tape.  I put long strips along the bottom and sides.  I put short ones on the ends trying to keep the flow of the pattern.
The next step for me is a little hard. I don't do a lot of sewing. I didn't have straight edge so my fabric was a little uneven but no one will see the bottom of the rolls.  Wrap the rolls in the fabric and leave a little overage.  Once you cut in you will put glue under the overage.  Press down to seal it.  If  you leave the ends a little long they will tuck inside the roll without having to glue them down.  But if you want shorter ones you can glue them down.  Once that"s done place them in the box.  Now your ready to put your jewelry to where you can see it.

Wearin of the Green

Good Afternoon dear readers,  Sorry this is so late ran around doing errands this morning.  Do you ever wonder why we wear green on St. Patrick's Day.  What really is St. Patrick's Day all about.  I'm Irish and I didn't even know this stuff. I did some research and thought I'd share it with you.  St. Patrick was a christian missionary who brought Christianity to Ireland.  Instead of banning all the pagan rituals he incorporated some of them in our traditions today.  St. Patrick's Day March 17 is actually the day he died.  I thought we would have celebrated his birth.  The color used was originally blue but because Ireland is called the Emerald Isle and its known for its shamrocks the color was changed to green.  That little thing about being pinched if you don't wear green involves a legend where leprechauns will pinch you if they see you and if you wear green you become invisible.  We like to celebrate this holiday with Irish Food.  Last year we cooked Irish Roast Beast(yes its a Joanne Fluke recipe),  colcannon and soda bread.  Unfortunately we are not close to any of the parades.  Do any of you do the parades.  Conor loves to wear Irish T-shirts and other things.  So what are you doing and wearing for St. Patricks Day?
