The Alternative Stroganoff

Good Morning dear readers,  I have a lovely pasta dish to share today.  Normally when you think of Stroganoff, beef comes to mind.  Well this recipe actually uses a healthier alternative ground turkey.  This is an easy recipe to make and I even use the microwave to help out.  This cuts down on standing at the stove especially with the knees acting up.  I went to the thrift shop last week and found an annual cook book from taste of home with the recipe in it and altered it to fit my families needs. So here's what you'll need:

1 lb ground turkey
1 cup frozen chopped onions
1 cup sliced mushrooms ( I used to small cans of mushroom pieces)
2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup (10 3/4 oz size)
2/3 cups milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup sour cream
hot cooked noodles

Defrosted ground turkey in the microwave(be sure and cover with wax paper).  Cook for 3-4 minutes until brown.  Then transfer to large dutch oven or skillet and put onions in pot and saute for 2 minutes.  Then add soups, milk, garlic, salt and pepper let cook until boiling reduce heat.  Then let simmer for 5-10 minutes add sour cream return to a gentle heat no boiling.  Serve over noodles. Bon Appetite.

Sorry everyone the rest of the photos did not turn out.  Soon will be returning to murder mystery food look for it.  Joanne Fluke has a new book out with lots of recipes to try out.
