Journal 52 favourite Foods art page
Good Afternoon dear readers, I'm trying to catch up with some of journal 52's prompts. This one is for the favourite foods prompt. I've been noticing words and images in magazines more and more because of my art journaling. The word Eats from Parade magazine came across my path and because I'm also a couponer I have several copies. I buy multiple newspapers. I've also started keeping a collage file of images just for my new hobby. I'm impressed with some of the ladies on my groups who have file cabinets of images color coded just for collage. Wow you guys rock. I know what I'll be buying in the future. Any ways I wanted to step out of my color comfort zone(blues, pinks and purples). So I did this background in light tan, bright yellow and some red strippling done on the page. Next came my rubber stamps I used an unmounted circle stamp in red it still had some blue on it so came out interesting. I put two rubber stamps in black of cupcakes. Then I put blue ice cream cones all over the page. Then I layered the food images and put Eats on the side. I also put names of food on the page and it was really fun making this page can't wait to do more. Enjoy and happy journaling. You know it really does help with the stress.

Art Let's Dreams Come To Life art page
Good Afternoon dear readers, I've been working in my new art journal book. I'm not ready for any 30 day challenges life gets in the way when it comes to being able to create. I had a chance to look through my face book groups and was inspired to create this lovely piece. I wanted it to look like a stained glass image. Since this was the beginning of my new book, it had to be about the art itself. I did a purple and pinks acrylic paints for the background. Then I took the flower stencil and did the raised technique with the gesso and painted it with oil pastels. Here's where I did the stain glass look.
I cut and glue card stock to the page. I went around the pieces with sky blue oil pastel crayon. Then took purple acrylic and lightly brush paint over the images. I don't know why but I like doing that with the paint. Then took new paint pens in black and wrote out the name. I'm loving creating maybe soon will be able to get some painting done on a daily basis. So here's the pictures enjoy

Coffee Feeling Good Made Easy art page
Good Morning dear readers, I love this page I created. I've been collecting images from magazines and newspapers. I even thought about putting this picture on a canvass but ended up putting it in this page. I used my favourite colors blues, purples and cranberry acrylics. I also blended a sky blue oil pastel pencil in the piece. I tried to use a stencil with a pink paint pen and in the corners rubber stamped the yin/yang symbol. Wal-mart has booklets of card stock. I rubber stamped flowers on that and cut them out and glued them to the page and then wrote Coffee Made Easy to go with the saying on the girl Feeling Good. Enjoy and happy painting.
I found him, I found him
Good Morning dear readers, I'm still trying to play catch up so there will several post today. Those who are regulars know that last year I really wanted a little Turkey for my fall displays. But for the life of me could not find one. Well I hit up my favourite thrift shop and found actually several but I settled for this little guy. He fits real well with my cornucopia and monkey pod tray. He will be in a more Halloween center display later. So here he is and go check your thrift stores they are now putting out Halloween and fall decorations.

Frugal and Easy Candy Bark
Good Evening dear readers, I'm playing catch up with posting this week. I decided to make halloween candy this week. Brachs candy makes it easy to make it different this year. They've added different flavors this year i.e. Indian Corn, Maple and S'mores. The Indian Corn is a little sweeter then the original so give it a try. The good thing about this recipe you can add other items to it like m&m's and nuts conor didn't want to add them this time. So we just made the basic recipe. Here's what you'll need.
Cookie sheet lined with tin foil
2-3 bags of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 bag of candy corn of your choice
Preheat oven to 200 degrees no hotter
take your cookie sheet fill it with chocolate chips
then pour candy over chocolate
Place in oven for no more then 10 minutes
Take out and use spatula to mix together
Then put in freezer for 30 minutes
Peel off tin foil and break candy into pieces
Serve and Enjoy

German Hot Dish
Good Morning dear readers, yes, we are back to getting some recipes ready for fall. Kyle wanted me to look for Asian lettuce wraps for this week but I found a lovely one dish deal on Mr. Food. It reminded of my southern roots. My parents were raised in the south and cooked a lot of recipes from the deep south. This recipe contains a main ingredient found in the south black eyed peas. But your probably wondering why she's calling it German. Well it also has a lot of ingredients found in German recipes and Conor wanted me to call it a German recipe. So that's what I did. Here's what you'll need and I've adapted the recipe to fit my families needs and tastes.

2 lbs ground beef
4 1/2 cups beef broth
3 (15.5 oz cans black eyed peas undrained)
3 potatoes peeled and chopped
1 sweet onion chopped
1 celery stalked chopped
1 cup of shredded carrots (buy in bag)
3/4 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
black pepper just to taste
First off, brown your meat in a large soup pot until no longer pink. Then drain off the grease and add all of your other ingredients. Set to boil on stove once boiling turn down to simmer and let cook 30-35 minutes or until a fork comes clean from the potatoes. Voila bon appetite.

new art journal page-simpler times
Good evening dear readers, here's my latest fun page. I found booklets of card stock at wal-mart and I just love these sheets of paper. I took the page with old movie posters printed on it. I cut them out and prepped them for my page. I take back what I said about the Folsom Joanne's went in the other day and they finally had gesso. So I'm ready to do a lot more painting. I used bright green and my favourite cranberry acrylic paint as the background. Then edged the page in black oil pastels. Still working on getting it right with the stencils and the gesso. Took the flower stencil and filled portion with gesso didn't quite come out as I wanted but good enough. Then rubbed oil pastels over it and outlined with black oil pastels. I glued the movie poster cutouts to the page and wrote in black oil pastels simpler times on the side. These photos remind of the 1950's love vintage stuff. Here's the photos sorry about the quality had some problems with camera today.
