Caturday Art-Snowshoe Mosaic Kitty

Good Morning fur buddies, we are joining Athena Cat Goddess is art hop today. Hope everyone is doing okay. Mom had another ms episode and the men with the big boots took her away.  They wouldn't let me sniff them. Good news the flare stopped after she got to the human vets.  But they scanned her head anyways-all good.  Instead of this scanning thing can't they just sniff her to see if she's sick.  Theirs got to be a better way instead of riding in the screaming van.  She's relaxing today and working on her canvas still wont let me sit on it.  I got a new bed (no you did not). That seat that mom puts her foot on its really comfortable.  It's my new favourite spot.  Well here's the photos. Mom used picmonkey and dream scope today.  So check them out and let me know what you think.  Please continue to follow us on our fb page and twitter which are on my side bar.  Oh before I forget Happy Memorial Day.

1 green bell pepper chopped
1 cup chopped frozen onions, defrosted
1 tbs minced garlic
1 3/4 cups beef broth
1 (28 oz jar) ragu spaghetti sauce with chunky mushrooms
1 tsp oregano

First off
Put flour mixed with 1/2 tsp salt and pinch of pepper in another bowl mix well. Place chicken in and  coat your chicken in the flour covering completely.

Spring Mixed Media Wreath

Good Afternoon dear readers,  I finally finished my new spring wreath.  I've been seeing a lot of different wreaths but nothing that said mixed media.  I love to play with all types of media.  I bought the wreath and it sat around the house for awhile.  Then I decide to just paint it with acrylics. First I covered it with gesso. Then put a couple of layers of  this sky blue paint.  I found these lovely flowers with pearls in their centers so pretty. I cut the stems down and stuck them in the wreath.  I took out my decorator duck tape stash.  I wrapped the duck tape around the flower area to hide the punch holes.  I think it turn out pretty good. Caturday Art-Snowshoe Turquoise Eyed Kitty

Good Morning dear furbuddies,  I've been abandoned multiple times this week.  Can you believe that Mom had to go to the VA place again.  The human vet wants to do Scans of moms head.  Apparently she had an episode where she couldn't see out of one of her eyes. She thought it was her ms/viral infection acting up again.  No she might have something called amaunosis fugax-body throwing small blood clots.  The human vet is a good doctor and always takes good care of my mom.  But I find all vets human or otherwise to be scary.  Maybe the apartment people will give my mom a break and not inspect the apartment.  Crazy humans always inspectin.  Please send prayers and healing purrs to my mom. Oh yeah almost forgot her birthday is on monday. Can you wish her happy birthday. She wont let me tell you how old.  I figure its fifty billion years.  My photo was done in picmonkey and pizap this week. I was laying on the bed with boy getting a massage.  Love it when the boy rubs my belly.  Have a happy weekend.

Final Photo done in Pink Lemonade in pizap

Updated Tips For buying Reduced Price Meat

Good Morning dear readers,  I wanted to talk about shopping for meat today.  You know the news is full of stories of how the price of beef and pork is going up.  So how do you deal with the rising cost of meat.  Well you need to shop reduced price meat and here's my tips on how to do just that idea. This link contains affiliate links see disclosure at botton in footer.

1.  Find the stores or stores that have the best deal on reduced meat--for me that's Savemart.  Yes, all stores have reduced meat but still don't have good prices.  I refuse to buy a package of meat over $5. Sometimes its okay to go over a little depending on the size of the package.

2.  Know when to go for the best deals.  Early in the morning is usually the best except the start of a new sale week.  They are putting out the specials first thing so wait or go the next day.  Some stores put out their reduced meet late in the evening.  It's always good to check all the stores you shop at to find out their times.

3.  Sometimes the meat is to far gone and looks off color.  I don't buy those items and let the meat department know it looks bad.

4.  I know this is basic and everyone knows this but freeze immediately when you get home.  Never defrost on the counter(I still know people who do this) always in refrigerator or microwave.  You can also cook meat for instance ground beef and freeze to use later.

5.  It's always a good idea to have a variety of recipes in your files for the variety of meats you can get on clearance.

6.  I wanted to add a little list of freezer times for certain cuts of meat.
  •  Cooked meat 2-3 months in the freezer
  • Uncooked Roast 4-12 months
  • Uncooked Chops or Steaks 4-12 months
  • Uncooked Chops or Steaks 4-12 months
  • Chicken 9-12 months
  • Fish 2-3 months
  • Hot Dogs 1 to 2 months
  • Bacon and Sausage 1 to 2 months
I'm adding some GO TO recipes to help you out.

Ultimate Thrifting Find-Vintage Jewelry

This post may contain affiliate links see disclosure in footer statement.

Good Morning dear readers,  I went on a thrifting hunt last week.  I visited the lovely Trinity thrift a local thrift shop for the church.  I can always find some lovely things in this shop.  Vintage Jewelry is one of my favourite things to find.  Growing up, I would read all kinds of books on vintage jewelry.  So when I saw this brooch in the shop and it was marked.  I knew I had to have it even though I was not familiar with the name.  The name of the designer was Hattie Carnegie. Did a little research when I got home.   Turns out I seem to gravitate to designers from the 1950's.  She was around when Coca Chanel was famous.  She was an immigrant from Austria in the early 1900's.  Started out working at Macy's in the hat department-hence the nickname Hattie.  Eventually opened her own shop and designed suits and all types of accessories for women. Her jewelry was made from plastics to metal.  I always like to refer to the designers of the fifties has making fakes look better then the real stuff of today.  Like to find out more check out the links at the bottom some really good books on the subject. Here's a picture of the brooch. It's so ugly its cute.

Sunday Selfie-Feeling Good

Good Morning my fur buddies,  its a good day and I'm feeling good.  Mom fed me my baby food last night and I had a good night.  There was no upset tummie episodes last night.  I want to thank all of you for all your good thoughts and healing prayers.  My mom is the best she put up with everyone's shenanigans.  Mom's day is coming up and everyone give their mom a furry hug and sloppy kitty kisses.  What are you doing for your mom this year.  I'm letting mom go to the movie place and I get cat sitted by the boys.  Don't know how that's going to go?

Check out the shop mom added this new item from yesterdays art post
