Caturday Art-Snowshoe Sketched Kitty

Good Morning my fur buddies,  We are late this morning mom overslept.  This weather has been playing havoc with my asthma.  Mom went online and was looking at ways to help control it.  She decide to buy me an air purifier.  It works great and has an added bonus the white noise helps mom sleep better.  I had to sit on her chest to wake her up this morning.  The first photo is the finished product.  It turned out very well and looks like a sketch. Mom used picmonkey and put a textured overlay on it.  Then went to pizap and put and old school overlay and then a red toned overlay on it.  This is mom's new favourite.

Valentines Day Art Page-Journey's End In Lover's Meeting

Good Afternoon dear readers, still trying to do a page of art a week or something that's art related.  Art from the heart on fb requested that we do a Valentines Page so here's the page.  To create this page I used acrylics in honeysuckle pink and light yellow.  Then I glued a white paper doily on the page and put my girl stamp on it.  I rubber stamped her on decorated card stock, then cut her out(cut her out awhile back).  When I think of Valentines day, I'm reminded of the candy we used to get as kids.  So I used a toilet roll and shaped into a heart(thank you Cathy) and put that on the page.  Filled them in with colored pencils and gel pens.  Wrote the words in black oil pastels.  I was reading It's takes a witch and they had these lovely Shakespeare quotes in the book-Journey's End In Lover's Meeting.  I wrote that in oil pastel and outlined the page and girl with black oil pastels. Last but not least its not valentines with some flowers filled some areas with rubber stamped roses.

Quick and Easy Cake in a Mug

Good morning dear readers, since the beef/cabbage soup recipe did not turn out like I wanted.  I was looking at cake in a mug recipes and realized I could make this really easy by using a cake mix.  Well you all know how much I love using cake mixes.  Why not apply that to mug cakes?  You can use a variety of mixes to make any kind of cake.  You can even make cakes for Valentines Day.  So here's what you'll need:

Cake Mix- 1 cup
2 Tbsp  Cooking Oil
1 Egg
Chocolate Chips
1 large sized mug

Mix up first 3 ingredients in your mug.  Fold in chocolate chips as much as you want to add.  Place in center of microwave and let cook for 4 minutes, watch the cake rise in microwave. When it stops rising check for firmness and insert fork in to check it.   Sprinkle with powdered sugar.  Bon appetite.

Caturday Art-Snowshoe Golden Rose Kitty

Good Morning dear readers,  we are participating in Athena/Marie Caturday Art Hop.  I hope everyone is staying safe in this horrible weather weekend.  We fortunately are only getting lots of rain and not snow.  They say the drought in California is finally over and we are  happy.  Mom still wont let me go outside, so I'm snuggling down with my blankets.  How are you all doing this weekend.  Do any of you have those wonderful fireplaces mom talks about when she wants her new house?  Mom did my photo in posterize in picmonkey and used a rose border from pizap.  Have photos that didn't turn out.  You too can turn them into art and join us at Caturday Art.  Have a dry weekend and stay warm.

Upcycling-Coke Carrier to Mixed Media Craft Caddy

Good Morning dear readers,  I've been working on this little project.  I took a small 6 pack coke case and turned it into a mixed media craft caddy.  I started this project by covering the caddy with gesso.  Then I had a little fun with my spray inks just spritzing the colors all over it.  The areas that were left with exposed gesso I painted with honeysuckle pink acrylic paint.  Then on the side I wrote in silver glitter glue Crafts.  Be sure if you use glitter glue to lay it on its side the glue will slide if you don't.  Let it dry for several hours and your done.  It will hold some paints and brushes or if you have small stencils perfect.

Good Morning dear furbuds, yes I've been MIA from Caturday art.  I blame mom for this happening.  So I reminded her to get up early and get my photos prettied up.  Since Valentines Day is around the corner I wanted to make a graphic for my girlfriend.  She's a cute little black kitty with a stubby tail that comes around.  They call her girl.  So this is for my friend enjoy.  Mom edited it in pizap with a klinzer filter with valentine stickers.

Creamy Beef and Noodles

Good Afernoon dear readers,  I was looking for a nice comfort food recipe to go with this cold weather.  This is the type of recipe you sit down and relax and watch you favourite show while eating.  I love to clip recipes from magazines.  This one came from an old taste of home recipe that I altered a lot and added some new items.  This is partly cooked in the crock pot or you can do stove top for faster cooking time.  Here's what you'll need:

2 lbs tip steak very thin-cut into chunks
1/2 teaspoon salt
pinch of black pepper
2 tbs canola oil
1 can condensed cream of celery soup
1 cup dried onions-you can use fresh
1 cup 2% milk
8 oz. package sour cream
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon thyme
6 cups egg noodles

Take your steak that's been cut into chunks and brown in skillet coated with cooking oil.  While cooking season with salt and pepper.  Combine soup, milk, onions, oregano and thyme.  Put browned meat in your crock pot 3-5 qt size pour soup mixture over it.  Cover and cook on high for 3-4 or until tender.  Cook noodles according to package direction.  Serve beef over noodles. Bon appetite.

Frugal Lemony Rice Crispy Cookies

Good Morning dear readers, I finally got back to cooking some new recipes.  This one has been a long time coming but trust me it was worth the wait.  When your mixing the batter, you can smell the lemons yum!  The kids can help you make this easy and frugal recipe.  You can find most ingredients in your pantry.  All it takes is four ingredients.  This recipe was adapted from a taste of home recipe to fit my families needs:

1 Lemon cake mix with pudding in it
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups rice crispies
1/2 cup melted butter

Mix all your ingredients together in a mixing bowl.  After chilling dough so it wont stick to your fingers, roll dough in small balls and place on cooking sheet 2 inches apart. Let cook 10-12 minutes.
Oven needs to be set to 350 degrees.   After removing from oven let cool for a couple of minutes. Enjoy your cookies.

Stress Reduction-Why a Coloring Book?

Good Morning dear readers, do you remember when  you were a kid and could just color for hours without a care in the world?  Well it turns out its really good for you. In fact its  the new hot trend-Adult Coloring Books.  But why is it good for you.  Has you know I have mental health issues dealing with anxiety/stress. I find when I color my mind is not on replay.  I'm not constantly going over the days events or stressing about tomorrow.  Coloring allows you to de-stress and think about the art.  Your slowing down and finally able to let it go.  It also helps you get ready to sleep.  Also working with certain colors helps enhance your mood.  For example yellow is a happy color.  Here's my first page I'm working on and its really helping me.

I think the more intricate the page the better. Still not sure what  you want, here's some of the ones I got has gifts this year.

The flower lady came from this one found at Wal-mart.

I got this from the Church Christmas Mall.

Target has some really intricate coloring books.

I also got an assortment of coloring pencils from artist loft and really love the face colors that are in the box.  I finally get the right facial tones can't wait to try drawing with these colors.
